Surface Protection Films
Various surfaces like coated and uncoated metals, plastic sheets and films, textiles and high pressure laminates need protection against potential damages like dirt, scratches and stains. These potential damages might appear during processing like drilling, bending, sawing, laser cutting or thermoforming or just during transport and storage.
The easiest, most economic and most environmentally friendly way to protect these surfaces is to use surface protection film. This self adhesive or heat activated film will be laminated on the surface, once the surface reaches its final appearance and will be removed after the last process step maintaining the surface as it was.
Adhesive Coated Films
Most surface protection films are self adhesive. To provide sticky 
properties adhesive is coated on a blank PE film. The coating weight and the chemical nature of the coating, as well as the thickness and the colour of the PE film can vary depending on the specific application of the surface protection film. Special properties like extended UV resistance, extended temperature resistance, deep drawing and thermoforming properties can be achieved with specific design of the basic film in combination with the right adhesive.
POLI-FILM provides a large range of products from very low coating weights for high gloss aluminium and stainless steel to high tack versions for laser cutting purposes. Laser cutting products are available in pure white to prevent black stains after the laser cutting process.
In addition to standard LDPE products POLI-FILM provides "high strength" films offering high tear strength and elongation to reduce the thickness of the film without losing mechanical strength. A speciality from POLI-FILM is acrylic based products providing "Easy peel" characteristics to increase efficiency during removing of the film from the surface. These films are used on high gloss aluminium as well as on stainless steel.
Coextruded Films
Coextrusion of adhesive is the latest technology to manufacture surface protection films. This technology is extra environmentally friendly. Only 1 production step is necessary to manufacture a ready to use product, this avoids energy and waste during production process.
