Huhtamaki Protective Packaging is the world leader in the design and manufacture of molded fiber products. This three-dimensional packaging is produced from 100% recycled paper and used by companies focussed on cost-effective and efficient packaging.
Many of the world’s blue chip manufacturers from a wide variety of industries – including high-value consumer durables – select our molded fiber packaging products for two key reasons: optimum product protection and cost-effectiveness.
Every Huhtamaki molded fiber model is individually created using our state-of-the-art, hi-tech design system, which, coupled with our design team’s expertise, provides the basis for a new prototype. This is then developed and perfected to meet all customers’ drop test requirements.
The performance/cost ratio achieved is measurable and has several aspects. Besides being a low-cost raw material, the nature of molded fiber allows all designs to be nested together to reduce transportation and storage costs. Customers’ handling costs between storage and production line are also significantly cut.
Some of our customers choose molded fibre to add to the visual presentation of their packaged products. Historically these customers operate within the telecommunications and pharmaceutical industries, with demand also rising across the retail sector.
Over the past 8 years, more and more industry sectors have switched to molded fiber, and flexibility, creativity and belief in our product have placed Huhtamaki Protective Packaging at the centre of this market growth.
