The Hubergroup's MGA series is the world's first low-migration Food Grade Ink System for producing Food Safe Inks and Food Safe Varnishes for Food Packaging. MGA inks and varnishes are organoleptically neutral and contain only substances that are non-toxic, non-hazardous and harmless, and even these in concentrations that fall way below the statutory limits set!!

The MGA system means that Food Manufacturers are already ideally equipped to meet future legal requirements for consumer protection right now.

Food Grade Inks - MGA-CORONA®–inks

These Food Grade Inks are low-migration, low-odour and low-swelling inks and have been granted a European patent (European Patent No. 0 886 671). They contain vehicles based on renewable raw materials and they dry purely through absorption on absorbent substrates, such as folding boxboard, and must be varnished inline with MGA-ACRYLAC® dispersion varnish. They also contain pigments that meet the requirements of EU Resolution AP (89)1/EC and are available as a PANTONE® and CRS mixing system.

Food Safe Varnishes - MGA-ACRYLAC® Dispersion Varnishes

These Food Safe Varnishes are made from specially selected raw materials and have been developed for varnishing MGA®-inks. They are a completely separate contamination free production.

Single Material Packaging with: MGA®-Silver

This new Food Safe Ink offers low-migration and low-odour due to special selected raw materials it can be processed from the offset unit without difficulties and is available as two-component ink.

The Advantages for you:

In many cases, there is no need for additional functional barriers, such as coating of the inside or inner bags (secondary packaging). The folding box can be used as primary packaging, i.e. as single material packaging.

Folding boxes printed with MGA-CORONA® inks and varnished inline with MGA-ACRYLAC® dispersion varnish are deemed safepackaging in terms of foodstuff regulations.

Low Migration UV inks and coatings

Prints with standard UV inks and coatings could contain ingredients like UV thinners and photoinitiators that are able to migrate. An innovative formulation with selected raw materials reduces migration of UV-offset ink films.

Low Migration UV Inks

Cured Ink layers are Low Migration UV Inks and have low organoleptial values and are formulated with special selected raw materials like high molecular photoinitiators, fast curing vehicles and monomers.

They are suitable for use on paper and board and they contain pigments that meet the requirements of EU Resolution AP (89)1/EC and are available as a PANTONE® and CRS mixing system.

Low Migration UV Coatings

Low Migration UV coatings for use on Low Migration UV inks are also formulated with special selected raw materials like high molecular photoinitiators, fast curing vehicles and monomers. They are suitable for offline coating of MGA®-inks together with Primer 580537/40.

Water Based Dispersion Coatings MGA-ACRYLAC®

Our water based dispersion coatings are specially selected from raw materials and are developed for varnishing MGA®-inks separate contamination free production.

The main advantage of all of our Food Inks and Varnishes is that they can be used as a single material packaging solution, in many cases there is no need for additional functional barriers, such as coating of the inside or inner bags (secondary packaging). The folding box can be used as primary packaging and therefore saves on material, cost, production time and reduces damage to the environment by reducing the need forexcessive secondary packaging.
