One of the UK’s leading flexible packaging manufacturers ASP Packaging Ltd has formed a separate division, Natura ASP ltd to specialise in compostable packaging originating from non-petrochemical alternative resources. Sales Director, Alan Campbell explains:” Landfill is running out, environmental issues and packaging waste are becoming daily news - renewable and sustainable alternatives provide packaging that will break down into garden compost. These materials are stringently tested and require accreditation to prove they work. All Natura ASP packaging conforms to the European Standard EN 13432.
Compostable Packaging - Flexible Films
NatureFlex compostable films
Originally developed in conjunction with Innovia Films for Sainsburys Supermarkets, NatureFlex is used to pack Fresh Produce and can be found today, in most major UK retailers. NatureFlex can be printed, hot needle and laser perforated

Mater Bi compostable films
Natura ASP Ltd, print and convert Mater Bi as a compostable replacement film for low density polythene films. A starch based material, Mater Bi provides excellent print quality and good seal strength. Mater Bi conforms to EN 13432 and can be hot needle, macro and laser perforated
PLA ( Polylactic Acid ) compostable Films
A starch based product, PLA offers very high clarity, a naturally high permeability offers prolonged shelf life. PLA can be printed, micro, macro and laser perforated. Natura ASP Ltd PLA conforms to EN 13432 and is 100% compostable
Sugar Cane Trays
Sugar cane trays are manufactured from the agricultural waste produced from sugar cane processing. They are a perfect alternative to conventional plastic and pulp fibre trays. Sugar cane trays are sturdy, waterproof and have a smooth surface. They are ovenable and microwavable, available in various colours. Natura ASP Ltd supply standard and bespoke sizes and colours. PLA Trays and Lids:
PLA trays are the perfect way to present your products. Transparency and surface gloss are superb. Natura ASP Ltd PLA trays can be supplied with, or without lids. All PLA trays are 100% compostable, and certified to EN 13432
Compostable Netting
Natura ASP Ltd compostable netting is used to pack fruit and vegetables - onions, oranges, lemons, and is available in extruded netting format. Natura netting is available in various colours and can be used in a similar manner to conventional netting but has the advantage of being 100% compostable as certified by EN 13432.
Fresh Produce Bags
Available in various sizes and can be printed in up to eight colours. A great way to customise your fresh produce bags. Wicketted, gusseted and back seal formats available. Laser perforation for Modified Atmosphere Packaging also available
