AccuWeb's new brushless, explosion-proof actuator is ideal for printing, coating and laminating operations where a spark-free environment is critical.
AccuWeb, Inc. has introduced a new brushless, explosion-proof actuator, the first of its kind for web guide applications. AccuWeb’s new brushless system sends electrical current directly to the motor windings rather than using the mechanical brushes found in conventional servomotors.
This design creates no sparks and reduces maintenance by never requiring brush replacement. The motor’s housing is explosion-proof, an added safety feature for printing, coating and laminating operations where combustible solvents are used. It replaces the costly and bulky purged systems that are used with other hazardous duty actuators.
This new brushless actuator interfaces with AccuWeb’s Micro 4000® NET (network-compatible) controller and compensated array edge detectors.
