SubscribeAce Controls International has extended its award winning Heavyweight 2 Series of shock absorbers with the introduction of two new miniature models.
The SC 25 and SC 75 units have body lengths of only 67mm and 71.5mm respectively and diameters of just 10mm and 12mm. These new shock absorbers feature the same revolutionary piston tube design, the combining of the piston and inner tube into a single component, that was first introduced on larger sized units at the end of 2001.
This design principle results in wide effective weight ranges - 1 to 500kg for the SC 25 and 1 to 800kg for the SC 75 - with energy capacities and operating ranges far in excess of previous models.
Says Edward Abbott, UK sales manager: " It was back in 1998 that our development work started into achieving the piston tube design. Initially, our success was limited to shock absorbers with diameters of 20 and 25mm.
However, when an ongoing programme into internal seals resulted in a new 'Stretch Seal' design, use of the piston tube design in smaller diameter devices became achievable. Today, the Heavyweight 2 Series comprises five models - SC 25 to SC 650 - that offer design engineers unbeatable performance and flexibility."
Applications for these two new shock absorbers are numerous but they are particularly suitable for use in high-energy pneumatic actuators, rotary actuators and rail slides.
