SIDEL Rotary Filler

A recent installation has been at Rowse Honey in Wallingford, who have invested in a new SIDEL rotary filler/capper for their PET plastic container line for liquid honey. The SIDEL rotary filler is equipped with a 'bottom-up' filling system and anti-drip devices to ensure a clean fill with no contamination of the container rim.

This latest machine supplements two existing SIDEL rotary honey fillers installed on glass jar lines. Engineering Manager John Bennett reports, "The SIDEL rotary fillers have significantly improved our production line efficiency. They are very flexible and offer a high standard of performance and reliability. Changeover time is quick which means we can achieve a faster turnaround of products and maintain a consistently high throughput."

In the UK, SIDEL have supplied Rotary Fillers for products such as fresh sauces and soups, chutnies, dressings, relishes and tomato ketchup, packaged in a variety of containers.

Managing Director - F. Jahn & Co. Ltd.

I graduated from Nottingham University in 1975 with a degree in Production Engineering and Production Management.

In 1977, I joined my father at F. Jahn & Co. Ltd., working initially in the After Sales side of the business. I transferred to the Sales Department in 1980, with responsibility for the marketing and sales of the range of canning equipment, HEMA fillers and also retorts from Barriquand STERIFLOW, who had recently appointed F. Jahn as their UK representatives.

Together with my father, then Sales Director, we purchased the company in 1990 from the Chairman and last remaining member of the Jahn family, Charles Jahn. In 1991, I took over the position of Managing Director and from that time have continued to oversee the development of the company and our portfolio of overseas suppliers.
