SubscribeLYNX Packaging Supplies has once again expanded its product range with the recent addition of extruded polyester and polypropylene strappings, and has also introduced a new hire service on tools and machinery.
The strappings come in a variety of colours, for coding purposes, and the polyester versions offer break strains of up to 720 kilograms, while high-quality powered and pneumatic hand tools are available for speedy application.
"Steel banding remains an important part of our business and there are obvious areas where only this will do, such as steel production and construction," said Andy Male, managing director of Lynx Packaging.
"But a lot of people who are currently using steel banding don't really like it, not least because of certain health and safety issues. Polyester and polypropylene are a great alternative and offer a number of benefits.
"For example, they don't rust and are therefore cleaner than steel. They have a higher elasticity, which means better shock-absorbing properties, and they're easier to apply and dispose of.
"As for the tools, it can be as simple as wrapping the strapping around the load, then pressing one button to tighten it and a second to seal it and cut off the excess."
The hire service has also been introduced to make life easier for customers.
"It's really for those who don't want to go to the expense of buying tools," Andy continued. "A job might come up where they need them for just a couple of months, for instance, which is clearly not worth the outlay.
"So they can now hire them from us - for anything from a month - and in the unlikely event that something should go wrong, a replacement will be provided."
The service is also available on shrink-wrapping, stretch-wrapping and semi-automatic, table-top strapping machines and it's already proving popular, as are the strappings.
"The reaction from customers has been very positive," said Andy. "They're a good addition to our business and complement our custom box and bag-manufacturing services perfectly.
"Now, more than ever, we're in a position to supply a company's entire packaging needs."
