A NEW customer catalogue has been launched by Lynx Packaging Supplies Ltd,detailing the wide range of packaging and related products now available from the Grimsby-based company.
Along with core products, such as polyester strapping, shrink equipment and glue guns, it features a number of more recent additions to the portfolio.
These include:
- Automatic and semi-automatic strapping machines
- Polypropylene and polyester battery, pneumatic and electric tools
- Steel strapping tensioners and sealers
- Steel strapping combination and sealless tools
- Stapling systems
"We found that some customers were simply not aware of the diversity of products that we handle," said managing director, Andy Male. "For example, one company was buying stretch film from us, but went elsewhere for adhesive tape.
"Although film, boxes, strapping and bags are a big part of our business, the ancillary products are equally important. We introduced the range of steel strapping tools because of demand for the strapping itself.
"It's about enhancing the service to customers and providing them with a 'one-stop shop' for their packaging needs. The catalogue is a way of bringing all of this together."
Feedback on the catalogue has been very positive and an online version is already in the pipeline, scheduled for launch within the next couple of months.
"A new website's currently being developed and this will also feature a 'virtual salesperson', who will guide the user through the site," Andy continued.
"Advice on the best products for particular applications will be available and customers will be asked specific questions, such as what sort of product they're interested in, and then led to that area of the site."
A further measure of the company's continued success came earlier this year when it took on a third warehouse at its base on Estate Road No. 7 on the South Humberside Industrial Estate.
This doubled Lynx's storage capacity to 14,000 sq ft in one fell swoop and was made in response to increased demand for call-off facilities - particularly 'just in time' bespoke boxes - and for steel strapping.
The company is currently turning over around 100 tonnes of the strapping every month.
"It's been a good year so far," said Andy, "The new warehouse is a really positive move and the growth in sales of steel strapping is very pleasing. They also give us a strong platform for taking the business forward in the future."
