The Swiss company, INVOLVO, specialise in the manufacture of high quality fully automatic Wrap-around Case and Tray Packaging machines, applicable to transit cases, as well as “shelf ready” display cases and trays, for the beverage, food, cosmetics and personal care industries.

Case and Tray Packer

The operations of INVOLVO's equipment is based on the "wrap-around" principle, where a case blank is folded around a prepared collation of containers, which have been marshalled into position at the machine infeed.

Once ready, the complete collation is fed into the machine and positioned over a blank, which is then carefully wrapped around the containers, glued and closed. The final case is then conveyored out to the palletising station.

The chief advantage of this system is the very tight cases, which can be achieved, thereby minimising the risk of damage to the containers during the transit and giving optimal stability for palletising. Depending on the case shape, packaging material may be economised, compared to traditional RSC boxes.

The latest addition to the INVOLVO equipment range is a new shrinkwrapping system for use with trays or simple pads. The complete range now comprises three models; INVOPAC intermittent systems for low to medium speed operation of up to 36 cases per minute (shown in photo), INVOSPEED continuous case and tray packing systems for high speed bottling applications and INFOLIO high speed tray pack and shrinkwrapping systems capable of up to 100 packs per minute.

INVOLVO's 80 staff are fully "involved" in the design and build of the range of equipment, which can be customised to a high degree, for instance where the available space is limited, and solutions can be found to almost all applications.

Managing Director - F. Jahn & Co. Ltd.

I graduated from Nottingham University in 1975 with a degree in Production Engineering and Production Management.

In 1977, I joined my father at F. Jahn & Co. Ltd., working initially in the After Sales side of the business. I transferred to the Sales Department in 1980, with responsibility for the marketing and sales of the range of canning equipment, HEMA fillers and also retorts from Barriquand STERIFLOW, who had recently appointed F. Jahn as their UK representatives.

Together with my father, then Sales Director, we purchased the company in 1990 from the Chairman and last remaining member of the Jahn family, Charles Jahn. In 1991, I took over the position of Managing Director and from that time have continued to oversee the development of the company and our portfolio of overseas suppliers.
