Showcasing Packaging Designs And Trends

An exciting first for the UK, easyFairs® ECOPACK will be co-located with the well-established easyFairs® PACKAGING INNOVATIONS and easyFairs® PACKTECH shows. Back at the NEC next year, these three shows deliver a comprehensive exhibition platform for exhibitors and visitors, showcasing everything from the latest packaging designs and trends to the machinery and equipment needed to deliver them, and spanning the entire role of packaging from brand enhancement tool to green agenda solution.

Providing a focal point for environmental innovation in the packaging sector, it is the only show in the UK to bring the latest sustainable packaging concepts and solutions together under the one roof.

"easyFairs® ECOPACK is the right event at the right time and there has been an incredibly positive response from the market," says Packaging Portfolio Director Simon Twilley. "It is an opportunity for the industry to showcase how it is responding to the challenging demands being made by consumers, retailers and brands for packaging with a reduced environmental impact but the same design excellence and production efficiency."

Environmental Corporate Social Responsibility

The show taps into a huge area of opportunity for the packaging industry. Almost three quarters of the visitors to the 2007 easyFairs® PACKAGING INNOVATIONS event said their organisations would be promoting their green credentials and environmental corporate social responsibility in their marketing in the coming 12 months. Encouragingly, 50 per cent said they already had a budget for packaging-related environmental issues, while a further 18 per cent said they would be securing such funds in the near future.

Covering the whole spectrum of innovation, meanwhile, and now in its fourth year, easyFairs® PACKAGING INNOVATIONS is the UK's top event for anyone looking for the next big idea in primary packaging. It brings together everyone involved in pushing back the boundaries of packaging design, including manufacturers, design and brand agencies, and retailers and brand owners.

With six months still to go, the show is already 75% booked and sees some major new names coming onboard, including Seymour Powell, Sun Chemical, Benson Box and BASF. Many exhibitors are returning for a second and third year too, such as Field Packaging and Klocke UK, and for the first time there will be a British Contract Manufacturers and Packers Association (BCMPA) Pavilion for visitors looking for the latest in contract manufacturing and packing.

Packaging Machinery, Printing Systems and Converting Technology

Playing a critical role in turning the new concepts and big ideas into tangible packaging products will be the exhibitors at easyFairs® PACKTECH. Now in its third year, this event brings the latest innovations in packaging machinery, printing systems and converting technology under one roof.  Leading manufacturers and suppliers - including Faruc Robotics, Imaje UK Ltd, Morray Beltyne, OCME UK, Pago, Pregis Ambassador and Prins UK - will showcase new technology solutions that provide a competitive edge, whether through improved productivity, reduced energy or material costs, or new machine features to deliver ground breaking packaging designs. Automation will also be a key topic for 2008 with a new Robotics Pavilion and learnShops™ speakers from the British Automation & Robotics Association (BARA).

The free learnShops™ are a key feature of every easyFairs show. Helping visitors and exhibitors alike to stay ahead in the fast-moving world of packaging, there will be no less than 80 learnShops™ seminar sessions across all three shows. Highlights include keynote address speakers from Seymour Powell at easyFairs® PACKAGING INNOVATIONS and top industry experts in the easyFairs® ECOPACK sessions exploring some of the major challenges facing the industry, from biodegradable and compostable polymers to on-pack labelling and the impact of packaging design on food waste.
