Optima Pharma Division: New Size and Variety

OPTIMA Packaging Machinery PLC

The Optima group has adopted a fundamentally new structure.

Production and Packing MachineryThe growth that has characterized the group over the last years, most notably in the pharmaceutical area, has now been channeled into clear organizational structures.

The advantage for customers is that the product offerings of the Optima group are now much more clearly laid out - though "clearly laid out" here is not to be understood in the sense of "reduced - quite the contrary.

The variety of machines and lines now available is unrivalled in the industry in terms of scope and diversity.

For someone looking at the new Optima Pharma Division from the outside and not being involved in it on a day-by-day basis, it may now seem surprisingly large. Actually, the Optima Pharma Division has been growing constantly and consistently.

The basis of this development was a clear decision, taken by the Optima management many years ago - since the requirements of the industry are far too specific for anyone to benefit from the now obvious boom in the pharmaceutical industry "overnight".

Production and Packing MachineryAlthough the prospects for the pharmaceutical sector are as bright as they have ever been, no one can tell exactly how they are going to develop in the long run. One thing is for sure: As market leader, the Optima Pharma Division will be a reliable and efficient partner to the pharmaceutical industry.

More than mere foundations have been laid for this. The Optima Pharma Division must be seen as a dynamic platform reacting to requirements fast and safely with new technologies, and continuing to set new trends.

If today the expectations placed on focusing on the pharmaceutical industry as one of three operating divisions of the Optima group have been realized, it is primarily because right from the start the decision has been put into practice with determination and resolve.

Production and Packing MachineryAt first, the Inova high-tech line of products has been continuously extended and, at a later stage, Kugler was also able to make a name for itself in the pharmaceutical industry with interesting technical innovations.

The success of these two companies finally made it possible last year to integrate an economically and technically "healthy" company such as freeze drying specialist Klee.

More than 'just' filling and packaging The two companies Autocon and Medicon illustrate why Optima Packaging Group has now become Optima group. In some areas it is not possible to clearly separate production and packaging processes, and there are other areas where the transitions are very smooth.

Production and Packing Machinery As a manufacturer of medical products, for instance for wound treatment, Medicon also demonstrates the synergy potential within the company. The company combines knowledge of production and of packaging under sterile conditions, including review and completion of certifications.

In addition, Medicon incorporates technical expertise from another, equally successful operating division, the paper division for the packaging of paper hygiene products. Autocon is an example of the fact that information technology has found its way into filling and packaging processes. Production data acquisition and evaluation are more important than ever.
