Launching the unique Citronix Pixel Plus and Micro Ink Jet Printing Systems Citronix and UK distributor The Needham Group are pleased to announce the release of their Pixel Plus and micro ink jet printing systems.
Having established themselves in the UK over the past six months The Needham Group aim to build on this success with the introduction of the Pixel Plus feature which is unique to the Citronix range of coders.
Unlike any ink jet coder currently available, as a result of a simple software command the printed drop size can be changed from 60 micron (normal) to 65 micron (midi) or 75 micron (macro), allowing print sizes from 1.5mm to over 20mm, eliminating the need for dedicated coders for different coding requirements. Pixel Plus also has upgraded software features giving superior print quality and enabling high speed coding at rates 30% faster than standard, making it one of the fastest coders currently available.
Being launched also is the high quality, high speed ci1000 micro ink jet printing system. Ideal for printing onto products in the pharmaceutical, electronics and cosmetic industries that require high legibility and attractive codes, the non-contact, high-speed printing gives print resolution of near letter quality. The micro printhead can produce very fine characters accurately – as small as 0.25” (.6mm) and at speeds up to 1755 feet/minute (355 meters/minute) – the fastest in its class! Featuring more standard features than any other micro system, the ci1000 is IP65 rated, has Ethernet Communications and Automatic Printhead Cleaning.
The Pixel Plus features are only available on the Citronix range of coders and are a standard feature at no extra cost making the ciSeries an incredibly versatile and cost effective option for all ink jet applications. UK and Ireland distributor of Macsa Laser
Following its success distributing the Citronix ciSeries range of continuous ink jet systems, The Needham Group has been appointed the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor of Macsa Laser.
Having established themselves in the UK coding and marking industry over the past six months The Needham Group aims to build on this success with the introduction of Macsa Laser Coders. With the addition of laser coders The Needham Group now believes in can successfully compete with the more established coding and marking equipment suppliers. David Needham, Managing Director of The Needham Group commented:-
“The addition of Citronix CIJ last September positioned The Needham Group in direct competition with the more established coding and marking suppliers, however we were often faced with applications more suited to laser. With Macsa Laser coders within our product range The Needham Group can now supply and support coding and marking equipment for all applications. We believe that in Citronix and Macsa we have the most advanced ink jet and laser technologies currently available”.
With over 20 years experience in the design, development and supply of laser coders and laser marking equipment Macsa has established close working partnerships with a number of leading global companies in a variety of market sectors. These include Nestle in food, LG in electronics, Roche in Pharmaceuticals, Lee Cooper in textiles, Coty in personal care and Robert Bosch in automotive.
The personal approach and willingness to work closely with customers to deliver appropriate solutions has been a major factor in Macsa’s success and has resulted in over 1200 systems being installed worldwide in the past 5 years.

With the most advanced, up to date product range for on-line laser applications The Needham Group can supply both CO2 and YAG laser coders with powers to suit most applications and capable of operating in both static and dynamic mode.
The Needham Group’s participation in this year’s PPMA Show is the latest in a long line of initiatives designed to demonstrate its strong credentials in the coding and marking industry. Both the Citronix ciSeries range of ink jet coders and Macsa laser coders will be exhibited for the first time in the UK and you are invited to visit Stand 9617, Hall 9 to have demonstrated their full capabilities.
