ROTATEK, S.A. is a company leader in manufacturing rotary machines for printing of labels, flexible packaging, commercial printing, business forms, etc.

Flexographic Printing Press

With more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing printing presses, ROTATEK has launched the ECOFLEX, a new flexographic press developed to satisfy the needs of the label and packaging printers. The advantages of this press are as follows:

  • Flexibility and versatility at a reasonable price.
  • Double frame construction that ensures rigid framework for reliable durability and superior print quality. With 25 mm thickness frames, the ECOFLEX is a very solid machine preventing any type of vibration that could affect the printing quality.
  • Modular construction design that permits to easily add additional printing and converting modules.
  • 1.000 mm unwind roll capacity equipped with a dancer system that regulates the unwind brake.
  • Very reliable and precise in feed tension control for any kind of material, such as film, self-adhesive paper, carton, etc.
  • Very stable register during the job, even in acceleration and deceleration ramps that are produced at the start and stops of the press.
  • The register is 360º motorised and can be controlled from the individual control panels located on each printing unit and from the main panel.
  • New cartridge system for a quick job change. The cartridge is composed of the ink tray, the meter roller, the doctor blade and the anilox roller.
  • The open ink tray can be extracted from the machine without the need of any tool, like all the other components of the printing unit. In case of long run jobs it is advisable to incorporate a peristaltic pump on the ink tray.
  • The meter roller has a different lineal speed from the anilox roller to obtain a better ink transference.
  • It is possible to change the ink trays, meter rollers, anilox rollers and doctor blades while the press is running.
  • The anilox roller is constantly turning, even when the press stops.
  • Optional turn bars for back side printing that can be moved at any printing unit.
  • The press is equipped with 3 pacing units, one at the beginning, another one between printing and converting section and the last one at the end of the press.
  • Each rotary die unit is equipped with 2 anvil rollers allowing underside die cutting and providing rigid support to avoid die cutting problems.
  • Matrix re-winder with control tension and pressure roller for difficult matrix.
  • The ECOFLEX can be equipped with a large series of options to customize the machine according to the specific needs of every client.

a. For example, for printing labels for cosmetic, health & beauty markets it is very useful to install at least one silkscreen-printing unit on the press. With the screen unit we will be able to print an opaque base on the clear material and then realize the flexo printing at the top. This silkscreen unit can be in a fixed position or mobile along the machine, what provides a major versatility to the printing capabilities of the press.

b. The delam/relam unit is a very interesting option when we need to print the adhesive, very common in shampoo labels.

c. For printing flexible packaging we strongly recommend to equip the machine with chill rollers to avoid film stretching and to obtain a good printing register.

d. The finished product can be delivered in rolls, sheets or even in stand-alone labels in case of wet glue labels production.
