The new Six (6) Colour Press is designed around a wealth of technical experience gained from our technical research centre, built to meet the expectations of an exciting developing market place covering Printed Films, Packaging and Labels through to Printed board products.

Standard and Optional Features
Unwind
The open design facilitates easy access to the Unwind which is fitted with a 75mm air core. Other sizes are available on request. Tension is manually adjustable with automatic tension control available as an option. The web position can be adjusted whilst the press is running to compensate for loose wound or odd size material rolls. An external Unwind can also be supplied for large capacity rolls. Fitted with 75mm Air Shaft, manual side position register adjustment and ergonomic location for easy access and loading of heavy rolls of material.
Splice Table (Standard)
Reduced downtime and wastage between changing material rolls is guaranteed with the Splice Table.Material is held by 2 clamps whilst the operator cuts, splices and tapes the new join in just a few seconds. Standard feature for operator friendly roll changes.
Web Guide (option)
Provided as an option, the automatic Web Guide uses an edge sensor to ensure material runs through the press accurately and straight despite loose wound rolls or a loose edge resulting from poor slitting & converting. To minimise space restrictions the splice table can also be incorporated into the Web Guide.
Print Station
Central Impression design to provide compact work area, with easy access, high speed set up and production. Centraflex drive technology provides infinite on run registration accuracy, unmatched by any other press across the widest range of substrates, including films, paper & board products. Focus has introduced Quick Release Ink Cartridges & ceramic Anilox Rolls to nable the fastest changeovers with the minimum of effort. Automatic Plate Throw Offa nd constant rotating Anilox Rolls, built in reverse angle Doctor Blades are standard.
Drying
2 Kw individual dryers are supplied with the press, with the maximum intensity set by the operator. The Centraflex benefits from a progressive I.R Drying systems ensure drying capacity is matched to press speed and substrate type. The heat is fan assisted across the face of the web and then waste heat is extracted.
U.V. Dryers
Optional UV Systems are provided with the latest digital incremental control. System can be supplied from a number of suppliers to match existing installations if required. (details on request)
Rotary Die Station
Each station has a removable anvil roll allowing front or back Die Cutting for complex cutting operations .Every Die Station has ‘On Run’ register control in all directions, whilst running the press. Tooling from a variety of presses can be accommodated with special adaptors. We can also supply tooling to your requirements, including the latest in Magnetic TPD dies for rapid delivery, changeovers, and easy storage. Further options include Sprocket Punch facility.
Sprocket Punch (option)
In addition to the standard Rotary Die section, the Centraflex is factory ready to take a dedicated Male & Female Sprocket Punch for production of Computer printable material stock & labels. The precision engineered unit has adjustable cutting rings and makes light work of most substrates. A collection tray for material waste is supplied.
Slitting
Unlike most manufacturers we have provided a dedicated Slitting Unit as standard. This Crush Slitting system is quick and easy to set, simple to service and provides great flexibility. Crush slitting units can also be used for Perforations and Creasing applications. We keep spare Units, Blades in stock and have a daily resharpening service.
Sheeting Station
The Sheeting Station is supplied as standard, enabling Roll to Sheet converting as well as standard Roll to Roll. The unit can be linked to a dedicated stacking system or used as a standard Die Station.
Lubrication
Every Focus machine is supplied with a semi-automatic lubrication system and used correctly, it will provide lubrication to the whole machine including the Rotary Die Section. This safeguard minimises the need for operator intervention and ensures trouble free operation,i ncreases tool life and reduces losses and downtime due to tool failure.
Rewind
Open cantilever design allows easy access for removal of finished rolls, 75mm air shafts are supplied as standard with variety of sizes available for secondary operations, single or twin rewind turrets are available.
Lamination Unwind
Available as an option, supplied with a pressure roll, using an existing Die Station to apply laminate to the face substrate.
Waste Rewind
A single Waste Rewind Turret is supplied with the press. Facility is available to add a further Rewind if required.
Video Inspection
Supplied as an option for strict monitoring ofprint quality during high speed press runs.
Transmission
As with all Focus machines, we have taken steps to design reliability and serviceability in as standard. All critical parts use sealed maintenance-free bearings. Transmission and Gear trains are lubricated for long life through a central lubrication system. In terms of maintenance, the modular design of each part of Transmission allows easy servicing and every machine will give long trouble free operation.
Tension System
The common Impression design enables the Substrate to be supported during printing, guaranteeing register stability. Focus have provided the Centraflex with a simple to maintain Tension system that will perform with precision and exactly as required. A low cost option is offered to increase capacity through a pneumatic system, which is ideal for special heavy duty substrates and we will be happy to discuss your requirements in detail.
Operator Controls
A high level of machine control is provided for the operator, enabling easy operation. All features including Speed, Drying, Slitting, Meterage can be controlled at the Main and remote panels.
Electrical
Reliability is vital when exporting to so many countries and the modular design of the electrical system ensures total trouble free operation. Over 3Kw of power from the motor through a gear box provide smooth response through the speed range to the Press. The system conforms to all current regulations and directives.
