Ingeo™ Biopolymer Packaging
This new range of Ingeo™ designs is made uniquely from NatureWorks® biopolymer, manufactured at NatureWorks LLC's 140,000 tonne name plate capacity plant in Blair Nebraska, USA. Ingeo™ packaging has been created to meet the commercial market demand for better, more responsible everyday consumer products and packaging. Unlike conventional polymers or plastics which are made from very limited fossil fuel resources, Ingeo™ is an ingenious new material made from plants instead of oil.
Ingeo™ natural plastic is derived from 100% annually renewable resources. The production of the biopolymer uses 65 percent less fossil fuels and produces 80-90 percent less greenhouse gas emissions than is used for conventional plastics, making Ingeo™ a brand catalyst for lower carbon footprint products and packaging and providing more environmentally appropriate options for the new generation of consumers who seek them.
As well as fresh food packaging, in retail stores today you can find a whole new generation of Ingeo™ lifestyle products, ranging from durable appliances, cosmetic casings, electronics, auto interior parts as well as Ingeo™ fiber applications for clothing, the home and personal care items. These are all available today in more than 20 categories, produced by at least 100 dedicated commercial partners, in more than 70,000 retail outlets worldwide.
