Have you got barcode 'scanability'?

Axicon Auto ID - Barcode Division

By Graham Croft, General Manager, Axicon Auto ID - Barcode Division

If you already produce barcodes, or if they are being printed on your behalf, are they being checked correctly?

Poorly printed barcodes cost retailers millions of pounds every year. Companies have, with the best of intentions, produced barcodes unaware of the implications and penalties of not wholly complying with, or understanding, the requirements involved. Not checking a barcode for accuracy by using a verifier (a quality control device) can lead to rejection of goods and financial penalties. Repeat offenders can, and have been, de-listed by major retailers.

Following its origin over 20 years ago Axicon Auto ID has established and maintained itself as a global leader in barcode imaging, barcode labelling and barcode verification equipment. All of the products are manufactured at our premises in Oxfordshire, England and marketed worldwide through a network of dedicated partners and distributors.

As one of the very first companies within the barcode quality assurance field Axicon’s continued ability to develop and manufacture innovative products has ensured that our customers can rely on access to the best verification in the market. Along with this comes the total commitment of the company and its equally dedicated and efficient staff.

So significant is verification that specific National and International guidelines have been developed to measure the barcode symbology print quality. All of the Axicon PC Verifier Range conforms to ISO / CEN / ANSI and traditional standards which have been set by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) and AIM (Automatic Identification Manufacturers).

As part of our mission to offer expertise to local companies Axicon are organizing seminars to discuss ‘The Benefits of Barcodes and How to Proceed’. These seminars are FREE and will not only provide you with access to key Axicon personnel they will also allow the opportunity for you to discuss your own specific requirements directly with the experts.
