Orwak Launches New High Capacity Baler

Orwak launches a new high capacity baler offering users a choice between 550 kg bales or smaller 450 kg bales.

Orwak is a Swedish company that constructs, manufactures and markets waste compactors and balers worldwide. The compaction and baling/briquetting solutions for solid waste material at source contribute to a more profitable waste handling and promote environmental care. Volume reduction results in less waste transportation needed, which is lowering the waste handling costs and the emission of CO₂. Material sorted into clean fractions and compacted into high-density bales normally has a greater value than mixed loose waste and bales of commercial size and weight can by delivered directly to the recycling industry.

High Capacity Balers

Orwak’s newest addition to its assortment of balers is model 3605. It was launched in January 2010 and it is a new player in the high end of the high capacity baler range. Only about a year ago, Orwak introduced its largest and strongest baler Orwak 3610. The two models 3605 and 3610 are teaming up to take on the most challenging assignments presented in the supermarket segment, in manufacturing industries and in warehouse & logistic centers. Both balers have the same generous loading aperture and a press force of 50 ton! They are designed to efficiently take care of large volumes of packaging material. Cardboard boxes and wrappings are reduced by up to 10:1, as they are firmly compacted into big bales.

Flexibility to meet the demands from two logistic concepts

Why are there then two similar models in Orwak’s baler range? Orwak’s machines are exported worldwide and the logistic systems out there are diverse. Furthermore, the customers have different priorities and expectations on what a big baler should offer. To meet these challenges, Orwak has introduced two options.If the goal is to generate a commercial bale that weighs more than 500 kg, Orwak 3610 is the right choice. 3610 is large and need some space, but it generates a bale that weighs up to 550 kg!

Orwak 3605, on the other hand, offers optimal transport logistics on markets, where the bale dimensions 800 x 1200 mm are required as a standard for a maximum pay load per truck. The baler has more compact outer dimensions and it produces a lighter bale that weighs up to 450 kg. There is overall a much broader application area with both 3605 and 3610 on the team!

Waste Compaction Balers

Automatic functions for convenient material handling

Several valuable working hours can be saved by investing in a waste compaction baler, as no cutting or folding of cardboard boxes is necessary anymore. Just throw in the material in the generous sized chamber and let the machine handle the volume reduction! The models 3605 and 3610 share many of the same features. For efficient and convenient material handling they are equipped with an auto start function and a sliding door that opens automatically after each completed cycle. The door is open and the machine is ready for more material, as soon as the operator approaches it again with armfuls of packaging material!

Orwak 3605 and 3610 are suitable for environments where large amounts of waste are generated or where the baler is operated intensely during a specific time of the day. Furthermore, the baler is placed at the goods receiving station, in the stock room, in the warehouse or along the production line – at the spot where the waste material is generated. The short distance to the baler requires less internal waste transportation and is a significant time saver!

High or low pressure – the material selector makes the choice easy

Orwak 3605 and 3610 are typical cardboard balers, but with a switch it is easy to change the setting from high pressure “HP” for cardboard to low pressure “LP” for plastic foil. In the HP mode they powerfully strike and flatten a pile a cardboard, while the low 12.6- ton-press force is ideal for, with a lasting result, compacting voluminous waste like soft plastic.

Membership in the silent family

Due to a new type of hydraulics, Orwak introduced ”the silent family” - a line of balers with low sound emission - three years ago. With a noise level of 63.9 dB both Orwak 3605 and 3610 are members of the silent family. A silent operating machine contributes to improving the working environment and to create a more pleasant environment for customers, who are often only a thin wall away from the baler!
